Last week Microsoft pushed out the Windows 10 Mobile Insider Build 14291. I had been using the preview builds on a Lumia 640 I picked up last fall to use as my daily driver. Overall the quality was fairly good but there were some issues with apps not working (such as the call block feature on my phone) as well as the Insider Hub oddly enough never being able to launch.
The rumors were true and yesterday Microsoft finally released Windows 10 Mobile to a limited number of Windows Phone 8.1 devices. The eligible devices are:
Lumia 1520, 930, 640, 640XL, 730, 735, 830, 532, 535, 540, 635 1GB, 636 1GB, 638 1GB, 430, 435, BLU Win HD w510u, BLU Win HD LTE x150q, MCJ Madosma Q501
Users who wish to upgrade to Windows 10 will need to check for updates on their device.
After a long development process it appears that finally Windows 8 mobile devices will receive the update to Windows 10 starting tomorrow.
Several online sources including PCWorld are publishing rumors that the delayed rollout will happen March 17th. Most likely, the first wave of updates will appear for Lumia 640, 640XL devices and the like.
